Résumé
Pour situer mon intervention dans le Colloque, je dois dire d’abord que je ne suis ni un historien ni un sociologue des sciences, mais un naturaliste et un africaniste. J’ai passe de tres nombreuses annees dans les pays de l’Afrique noire francophone, et je cherche ce qui peut être utile à des pays en développement comme ceux-là. Force est de constater qu’il existe des milliers de publications sur les grandes periodes de la science européenne, et encore peu sur les débuts de la science en Inde, au Brésil, ou en Afrique. Le Colloque qui s’achève m’a montré que la situation est en train de changer, il faut s’en réjouir, et rendre hommage à tout le travail qui a été accompli.
