Abstract

On duties among equals. We ought to give them the place they wish to fill in our minds and hearts. We ought to show our good inward dispositions toward them, by our expression and behavior, by real services, and by deferring superiority and excellence to them. The most lively and ardent friendships are not the most solid. We ought to have only as many friends as we can keep in real friendship.
