Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSE,volume 209))

Abstract

The thin film work on the high-Tc superconducting Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-oxide system is surveyed. The formation of the individual (2212) and (2223) polytypoids depends sensitively on the preparation processes and the choice of substrate material. Recent results on the effect due to substrate and the corresponding critical current measurements will be presented.
