Abstract

Evaluation of cardiac function by radionuclide techniques seems to have reached a phase of consolidation in nuclear cardiology. Nevertheless, there have been new developments and applications for radionuclide imaging of cardiac function. These developments regard the manufacturing of new tracers, the different ways of acquisition and analysis, new imaging devices, and the potential to simultaneously combine perfusion and function studies. These new attainments are an important step forward in the domain of radionuclide assessment of cardiac function.
