Abstract
Snowdonia is a land of lakes. Broadly speaking they fall into two categories: cwms and valley lakes. We discuss the former in the Lake District (site 4) and elsewhere in Snowdonia (site 19), whereas the valley lakes have been sadly neglected, considering their prominence in the landscape.
