Abstract
In Chapter 1 we assumed that there was a medium with given properties, we supposed that the medium was ‘disturbed’ in some way and we followed this disturbance as it was transmitted and reflected at discontinuities in the medium. In particular we derived a detailed analysis of a certain kind of medium, a so-called Goupillaud medium.
