Abstract

In this paper the authors describe the echographical aspects of internal tamponade substances (various kinds of gases and silicons). Because of its characteristics of innocuousness and repeatability, is possible to perform a correct echographic follow-up of surgical cases in which tamponade substances have been introduced, over all if we have cases with opaque media. The authors study various aspects of single tamponade substances that often are pathonomonic and their relations with the retina. They also point out how it is possible to perform computerized elaborations of images and correct measurements of dimensions and areas with new generation B-scan echography.
