Abstract

The Authors reproduce a series of echographs taken over a period of time in three cases of choroidal metastasis, clinically characterised by a turbulent growth rate, and echo-graphically by anomalies when compared with typical metastases.

The first case, a thymoma metastasis, showed a very similar ultrasound pattern to that of a choroidal melanoma. The second, a flat-cell infiltrating carcinoma in the lung, at first sight this seemed an enormous angioma, owing to its domeshape and rather high reflectivity, but which showed a marked endotumorous vascularization. The third case, a bronchial adenocarcinoma, had a lenticolar mass with medium-high reflectivity, that in the follow-up showed a rapid growth with prevalent lateral extension.
