Abstract

A review of the CZCS atmospheric correction algorithms is given. The standard CZCS algorithm with prefixed Angstrom exponent (AE) and the recently proposed algorithm (Bricaud, Morel 1987) using a water optical model for case 1 waters and allowing a pixel-bypixel evaluation of AE and pigment are discussed. Results of a study of sensitivity loss of CZCS are presented and compared with results of other investigations.
