Abstract

The biosphere in which man lives is affected by various types of radiation caused by physical processes occurring on the surface of the Sun, in space, in the depths of the Earth and on its surface and above all by solar radiation and, within its spectrum, ultraviolet radiation. There is also natural radiation from some minerals, and non-ionizing radiation caused by the electromagnetic field of the Earth. The natural radiation absorbed by man and the natural environment constitutes the background against which some harmful surpluses of artificially produced radiation appear.
