Abstract
The detailed and technical aspects of vector control are beyond the scope of this work. However, the basic approach to the subject is so fundamentally important that no book on medical entomology would be complete without some consideration of the principles of control. The reduction and eventual eradication of arthropod-borne disease depends on two factors: the first is the elimination of the disease organism from its human host or reservoir by protection or treatment; the second, and perhaps more important, is an attack on the arthropod vector, for without the vector there can be no disease.
