Allergic Rhinitis

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Immunology and Medicine Series ((IMME,volume 23))

Abstract

Straightforward nasal allergy, with symptoms of sneezing, itch and rhinorrhoea, is usually simple to recognize and diagnose, and frequently responds to adequate medical treatment. However, unsuspected allergic disease may be the underlying factor in many other rhinological and otological problems and its treatment may obviate the need for surgery or potentiate its effects.
