Abstract
Philips Taiwan has only been in existence for 25 years. It is part of Philips Electronics N.V. which was founded in 1891 at Eindhoven in The Netherlands and was set up initially to manufacture carbon filament light bulbs. Philips is now a multi-national company with interests in over 60 countries and a marketing and service network spreading to over 150 countries around the world. In 1991, Philips turnover reached DF1.57 billion (c. US $33.3 billion) with a total workforce of 240 000 people.
