Abstract
Benchmarking is not about methodological issues only; it is more about how the methodologies available are implemented and applied to particular situations. Where do you gather information from? Whom should you use for the benchmarking exercises themselves? What partners should you look at in the process of selecting the projects? Who should champion the whole introduction of benchmarking? How to make it sustainable and thus a powerful tool in changing the culture of the organization? These are the critical factors which facilitate the introduction of benchmarking. This chapter discusses them in more detail.
