Abstract
Binary interactions of particles, described by the Coulomb potential U = —e 1 e 2 / r, have been well studied in mechanics (see Landau and Lifshitz, Mechanics, 1960. Ch. 4). Considering binary interactions as collisions, we are interested only in their final result, the duration of the interaction being neglected.
