Abstract
The paper presents the analysis of the main tendencies observed in production and consumption of the agrocomplex’s goods and in the change of its structure. It contains a classification of Russian regional agrosystems, made on the basis of the level of development of agriculture and processing industries, consumption and dependence on externalities. The main features of adjustment of food markets are outlined for different stages of market relations.
Food prices dynamics and structure, the subsidy mechanism and the inflation processes in the consumer sector are analysed.
The process of land re-distribution, the new farms’ efficiency levels and the contradictions of privatization are characterized.
The authors propose ways in which farmers could be supported and the social sphere of the agro-industrial complex could be reformed.
