Abstract
A study of the vegetation of Southwest Kopetdagh was conducted from 1978 to 1986 in the Syunt-Khasardagh Natural Reserve and adjacent areas; it resulted in the description of plant communities on 602 plots, with 585 species of higher plants and 14 moss species registered. Fifteen types of vegetation were distinguished and characterized. Spatial structure of vegetation complexes was studied and mapped. Restoration of tree and shrub species in the Reserve, resulting from the protection regime begun in 1978, was also studied.
