Abstract

In this chapter it is discussed how the Kosterlitz-Thouless transition can be observed in helium films and in superconducting thin films. Experimental results are given. In helium films and in films of low-temperature superconductors the transition has been observed. For films of superconductors with high critical temperature the data are still incomplete.
