Sedimentation in Northern China Seas

  • Chapter

Abstract

Studies on the sedimentation in the Bohai Sea, Huanghai (Yellow) Sea, and East China Sea (Fig. 1) have been increasing since the 1960’s. Based on a large quantity of bottom sediment samples collected by the Institute of Oceanology, Academia Sinica, this paper discusses the distribution, mineral and chemical compositions, material source of sediments and models of sedimentation in these seas.
