Abstract
Global oceanography had its beginnings in biological studies of marine plants and animals, including such aspects as floristic and faunistic studies, the abundance, distribution and community structure of various ecological groups, their aquatic production and productivity processes, their reproduction and growth processes, interaction between the ecosystem and environment, etc.
