Ground-Based Infrared Astronomy
In this paper, I discuss ground-based infrared astronomy with emphasis on observations made during the last decade. I cover several topics including: 1) What makes a ground-based infrared telescope, 2) Coments on ground vs. space for infrared observations, 3) The science that has come from ground-based telescopes: star and planet formation, companions to newly formed stars, brown-dwarfs, luminous galaxies, and cosmology.
