Abstract
Vesicles can serve as simple model systems for cell membranes and whole cells. Recently, experiments have been carried out with the aim of multiplying (reproduction) vesicles due to a chemical reaction taking place within the boundary of the vesicles (Schmidli et al., 1991; Vonmont-Bachmann et al., 1993).
