Abstract
Nuclear disks, i.e. separate dynamical components revealed by large radial velocities towards the center, are a common phenomenon in spiral galaxies. As for the Milky Way, non-circular motions are likely to enhance the apparent velocity gradient in the center. Bars are responsible for the elongated orbits, and for the mass concentration towards the inner Lindblad resonance. When the gas concentration is enough in the center, a second bar can decouple from the large-scale one, rotating at a higher pattern speed. This will extend the life-time of the nuclear disk.
