Abstract
This chapter describes the application of data envelopment analysis (DEA) tools to the measurement of relative efficiency of highway maintenance patrols in Ontario, Canada. The system has evolved as a result of a two-year study carried out for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, with the purpose of implementing it on a provincewide basis.
