Abstract
The integration of a combined gas and steam turbine cycle with a once-through steam generator immersed within a high pressure fluidized bed combustion (PFBC) process is a unique power generation arrangement. This new system presents several challenges while presenting lower construction and operating costs and meeting stringent environmental regulations. The process controls for a PFBC unit require considerable engineering effort. This chapter describes in a general manner the more significant considerations in such a project.
