Abstract

All conventional methods of seismic recording, whether they use single sources or multiple repetitive sources require that the onset of recording and the onset of the release of energy should be synchronous or have a time delay that is constant or at least measurable. When multiple units of a source are being used, then they must operate in synchronism. If they do not do so, then the vertical stack is degraded by the presence of spurious or ghost events.
