Abstract

As mentioned in Chapter 2, the history and physical examination are used not only to clarify or resolve a problem noted by the owner of a companion animal. Sometimes a specific examination is essential for further examination or treatment and in other cases it is performed at the request of the owner. An example of each of these is described in this chapter, namely:
  • preanesthetic examination

  • health certification of pups and kittens.
