Abstract
A software package has been developed for analysis of data from small aperture seismic arrays. The intention is tailored for detection and parameter estimation of weak seismic waves obscured by coherent (transient) noise. The main characteristic of the algorithms and programs developed is their adaptive structure: they incorporate statistical estimation of the spectral power density matrix of array noise records. Utilization of this spectral density information strongly enhances the signal to noise ratio due to suppression of the coherent component of interfering noise seismic waves. The adaptation procedures provide an effective performance of programs aimed at detecting specific seismic phases and evaluating their main parameters: onset time, azimuth and apparent velocity.
