Abstract
For the moment there is no specific regulation for financial conglomerates and consequently no specific requirements exist in relation to their solvency. We therefore paid special attention to the comparison of the solvency regulations for banks and insurance companies. We have tried to compare both aspects of the solvency regulations:
-
the methods to calculate the required level of solvency;
-
the definitions of the components that constitute the solvency fund.
