Abstract

The concept of resonance is present in all fields of physics. From wind-induced oscillations that make a bridge to collapse, to musical instruments like flutes or trumpets where the size or shape of the cavity in which air enters is changed to fulfill appropriate conditions, resonances may have, in human life, destructive consequences but they can also serve as sources of pleasure.
