Abstract
GRO J0422+32 is a hard transient X-ray source (X-ray nova) discovered by BATSE on board GRO on August 1992 (Paciesas et al. 1992, IAU Circ. 5580). It has exhibited four successive outbursts within two years. This class of X-ray novae has focussed particular interest since the discovery among them of at least three black hole candidates.
