Abstract
An overview of the area of Intelligent Control Architectures for robots can be a guide in existing achievements in the area of intelligent control since most of the efforts recorded can be identified with our desire to reproduce cognitive activities of human brain. This is why this area is sensitive and any statement in this area can have repercussions for a variety of scientific domains adjacent to cognition. One can see it in the polar stands on the issue of “behavioral vs hierarchical” architectures. We will show later that this issue is actually a non-existent one: it is actually an issue of the degree of distribution in a control structure (“centralized vs distributed” control could be a better formulation for the problem).

These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
