Abstract
The need to regulate new reproductive technologies and practices in the Republic of Indonesia was emphasized in the 1992 promulgated legislation on Health (Part II paragraph 16). Artificial pregnancy is allowed as a last effort to help a validly married husband and wife to obtain offspring, provided that the fruit of fertilization of sperm and ovum from husband and wife is implanted in the womb of the wife by skilled authorized medical personnel in designated health facilities [1].
