Abstract
In the present we start a systematic presentation of the statistical theory of nonequilibrium processes in open systems. Our main task will consist in the transition from the reversible equations of mechanics for the particles of macroscopic systems to the irreversible equations of the statistical theory. Two methods are available for this purpose.
