Hydrogen-Metal Systems

  • Chapter
Hydrogen Energy System

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSE,volume 295))

Abstract

This chapter provides an introduction to and overview of the important scientific and practical aspects of hydrogen interactions with metals. In particular, it concentrates on the controlled absorption and desorption of hydrogen into and out of metals, especially the area of rechargeable metal hydrides. The subject of the hydrogen degradation of structural materials is also briefly discussed.
