Abstract

At the time of the Romanian Revolution of December 1989, Romanian scientific research and technological development suffered through a crisis and chronical chain insolvencies. The situation was even more difficult as in the interval 1965 1980. Scientific research, engineering and technological development had greatly contributed to the establishment and development of national industry and other sectors of the economy capable to meet the needs of an extensive development some of its divisions showing a high competitive potential. It can be stated that, at the end of the ‘80s, about 80 per cent of Romania’s industry and economy, in general, were tributary to the scientific creativity and expertise of the Romanian researchers and designers.
