Abstract
In addition to its well-known political and military dimensions, NATO has a “Third Dimension” which seeks to encourage interaction between peoples, to consider some of the challenges facing our modern society and to foster the development of Science and Technology. The programmes of the NATO Science Committee are major components of this third dimension.
