Abstract
Since antiquity, the nucleus of education, the so-called “Gymnasium”, was established in the city of Athens, which functioned as the first concept for collective physical, as well as intellectual training of the youth. How important and indispensable these training activities were considered was evident from the yet existing stadiums scattered all over this part of the world, where physical training was taking place. In these establishments, besides the individual courses in various subjects of knowledge taught, care was also taken to train the moral character of the students.
