Abstract
The psychiatric structure has changed from major institutions to community psychiatric services and small psychiatric hospitals. Psychiatric treatment have changed from purely medical treatment to psychotherapy, environmental therapy and social training combined with medical treatment. Psychiatry is a science with several sub-specialities and auxiliary sciences. A new development in psychiatry is Consumer health information. All these alterations in patterns and structures mean changes in the need of information and supply - and changes in the libraries.
