Abstract

The measurement method for an evaluation of extintion ratio of fiber optic polarizer is presented. The proposed method consists in an application of Sagnac interferometer in a configuration used in a fiber optic gyroscope. It allows to evaluate the extinction ratio unmeasurable by means of other known methods. Moreover, it enables to study of polarization properties of the polarizer without necessity of free propagation of the optical beam.
