Abstract

In this paper the authors stress the role of echography in thediagnosis of the Retinopathy of the Premature, on the basis of greaterknowledge of this pathology, and because today it is possible to have moresophisticated computerized equipment with programs allowing us image processing.Nowadays, the echography is very useful to make diagnosis and toestablish the echographical classification of the ROP, while in the past it wasonly possible by echography to perform differential diagnosis between ROPand other leukokorias. The authors finally show the role of echographyin following the eyes after surgical treatment (criopexis, encirclement and vitrectomy).
