Ultrasonographic Evaluation of Axial Length Changes Following Scleral Buckling Surgery

Abstract

In order to assess postoperative refractive changes, the influencesof two different scleral buckling surgical techniques on the refractive ocularmedia and on the axial eye length were studied. Buckling with a circlingelement induces a significant enlargement of the eye length and a correspondingnegative sperical refraction change.
