Abstract
In the first chapter, Systems Theory and Skill Theory, the importance of the system environment and the interactions between system levels was emphasized. It seems clear from the preceding chapters that the management system conforms to these general principles. There are obviously differences between the one manager on a farm which has a total of four or five workers, and a manager within a National Health Service employing a million people; but size is only one of many factors.
