Abstract
Previous studies by our group1 and others2 have established in vitro systems for examining the interactions between neutrophils and immunoglobulin G aggregates or monosodium urate crystals which may be important in the inflammatory processses occurring in rheumatoid arthritis and gout. The present studies utilize a previously described3 neutrophil monolayer system to quantitate the uptake of these particulate materials along with their subsequent effects on cellular adherence and enzyme release.
