Abstract

Ichthyosis is a disorder of abnormal keratinization. Clinically the skin appears dry, scaly and cracked. There are many different clinical forms of ichthyosis. Ichthyosis is most commonly hereditary, but may also be acquired. Hereditary ichthyosis is subdivided into distinct entities by the clinical features and mode of genetic transmission.
