Changes in the Innervation of the Fundus after Subtotal Gastrectomy

  • Chapter
Gastrointestinal Motility

Abstract

Our earlier studies show the changes of the nervous transmission from mainly inhibitory of the fundic smooth muscle cells to mainly excitatory of the gastric remnant after subtotal gastrectomy (Bayguinov, Atanassova 1981). It is of interest to know the dynamics of these changes and of the morphological changes in the intrinsic nervous system after surgery.
