Abstract
The adrenal glands are situated at the upper poles of the kidneys. They each comprise two distinctive histological layers — the outer cortex and the inner medulla. The cortex is further divided into three layers:
-
(1)
the zona glomerulosa,
-
(2)
the zona fasciculata,
-
(3)
the zona reticularis.
