Abstract
The testis is the male gonad. The mature testis in the adult is responsible for the production of spermatazoa and the secretion of testosterone. Sperm production occurs in the seminiferous tubules and it takes approximately 70 days for one mature sperm to form from the spermatogonium. Sperm in the testis achieves its fertility when passing through the epididymis attached to the testis. Further nutritional factors are added via secretion from the prostate during ejaculation.
