Abstract

Following a short review of the principle used to determine the electron density and collision frequency of the ionosphere by the inverse Seddon method and by differential absorption measurements, an account is given of the measuring technique, featuring high accuracy of the phase measurement and elimination of the effect of rocket spin. The rocketborne instrument package provides simultaneous data to deduce electron density, collision frequency and rocket trajectory.
