Abstract

We begin with a discussion of the dynamics of trapped particles. The generation of a proton component of the radiation belt by the action of cosmic ray albedo neutrons is then discussed. We conclude by pointing out a number of investigations, chiefly experimental, that might usefully be made in the future.
